We all carry our children. But why hold them on your hands when we achieve a better, so-called ergonomic position of the child that is the best for their development, in a scarf or a suitable baby carrier? Besides, we can have our hands free, and our backs do not hurt when the baby’s weight is distributed correctly. And we visit places that cannot be reached with a pram.
What exactly is an ergonomic baby sling? This is a carrier where the child is in the right position, supporting his/her healthy development. The backs are slightly rounded, legs are bent, buttocks are padded, knees are higher than the buttocks. The backs are supported by the fabrics along their entire length so that the weight of the heavy head can be distributed over the entire length of the back and does not press against the spine in an upright position. The position of the padded buttocks and bent, wide-stretched legs, in turn, allows for perfect blood flow to the hips and, thus, the maturation of the hip nuclei. Carrying a baby in a scarf or ergonomic carrier can often replace the so-called using of wide diapers.
Unfortunately, there are also baby carriers on the market, in which the child cannot be placed in the right position. Unfortunately, their wide distribution in regular and online stores shows how little is known about “carrying the children properly”. Such slings are called “hangers” and are characterised by a small width of the fabric between the child’s legs, where the cloth does not extend entirely from the knee to the knee and, therefore, does not allow the pelvis to be padded. The baby’s legs just hang down, and the pelvic area is overloaded. Usually, such a position is not comfortable for the child for obvious reasons, because the child basically “hangs by the crotch”. Such carriers for children usually have another significant defect – a reinforced, straight backrest, which does not allow the child to round his/her back and, thus, distribute the weight of the head along the entire length of the back. The weight of the head is transferred along the spine to the pelvic area. Such a reinforced backrest can also cause the baby to overheat unnecessarily on warm days. Besides, such carriers are not usually comfortable for the carrying parent, because the weight of the child is not distributed correctly and generally, such stretchers tend to put off the entire ides to carry your child.
Anyone who tries a proper ergonomic carrier will know that they can hardly feel the child’s weight can carry it longer, the child is satisfied in a comfortable position and usually falls asleep very soon. Probably the most well-known ergonomic carrier is the Manduca carrier. Still, the market has evolved a lot since the time of Manduca. Even the Manduca brand is trying to come up with new models because its first version is not very variable. Fortunately, there are also a lot of acceptable and really great baby carriers on the Czech market, and you just have to choose. Carriers for children Jožánek meet all the requirements for ergonomic carriers, and we will be honoured if you choose our products and use it for carrying your small treasure.
